Cheese Potato Fingers

One of the most loved recipe amongst children Cheese potato fingers are honestly so delicious that you can’t resist having more! These are made with minimum Ingredients and in a very small period of time. They are a perfect snacks or tea time recipe and can be made as an appetizer for your baby’s birthday party. This 5 Ingredients recipe is a hit and will surely be loved by your little one. I have made a basic and simple version of it. You can season and spice them as per your taste and preference.

Introduction

This yummy fingers are made by boiling and mashing potatoes along with grated cheese and cornflour and then seasoning it with salt. They are then kneaded,shaped and sliced evenly. Later they are deep fried in hot oil until golden brown and crisp. They are crispy on the outside and soft and cheesy in the inside. These fingers taste best with ketchup and coke. Ingredients


Potatoes- 2 to 3 (medium sized)
Cheese- 1 cup grated
Salt- as per taste
Cornflour- 2 tablespoon
Oil- for frying

Step by step recipe with images

1)Firstly pressure cook 2 to 3 potatoes until done. 2 to 3 whistles are enough to boil. Now transfer them to a bowl.

2)Peel and mash them well using a masher.

3)Once done keep it aside for later.

4)Now take 2 cubes of cheese and grate them well.

5)Add the grated cheese in it.

6)Now add 2 tablespoon of cornflour in it.

8)Mix them well using your hand into a dough.

9)Place the dough on an oiled board.

10)Gently press the dough from all sides using your finger.Flatten it evenly.

11)Now using a knife ,slice them vertically in thin slices as shown above.

12)Now slice them horizontally from the middle as shown above.

13)Now slowly remove them one by one from the board. It should look like a finger.

14) Now heat a pan with oil.

15)Add the sliced fingers in hot oil.

18)Simply drain them off and turn off the flame.

Tips and Tricks:


1)You can add more cornflour if the dough is sticky.

2)Mix the dough with your hands avoiding lumps.
3)Fry them in hot oil .
4)Don’t turn the flame to high as the cheese will melt in oil.
5)Frying must be done quickly and Gently.
6) You can add seasonings of your choice .I prefer keeping it simple and child friendly.

Healthier version:


1)You can make them with sweet potatoes and boiled and mashed veggies.
2)You can airfry them instead of deep frying.
