Ingredients
  

  • Idli Rice- 3 cups
  • Urad dal- 1 cup
  • Salt- as per taste

Instructions
 

  • Firstly soak 3 cups of idli rice and 1 cup of urad dal in a pot for 5 hours.
  • Drain off the rice and daal.
  • Transfer it to the mixing jar and add required amount of water in it.
  •  Coarsely blend the batter into a thick paste, repeat it with all batches.
  • Transfer if to another Bowl and ferment it for 8 hours.
  • After 8 hours, The batter will double with a lot of air bubbles in it, indicating proper fermentation.
  • Add water as per requirement. your batter is ready. Now grease the plate with oil.
  • Pour the mixture in the plates.
  •  Steam the idli in bubble steamer for 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Poke it with a knife to check whether it is perfectly cooked or not. If the knife is clean your idli is cooked perfectly. Remove the idlis from the plate using a thin knife or spoon.
  •  Your idli is ready, Serve it along with chutney and sambar.
